My hypersensitivity made me really sore for a couple days, but it appears to have passed. I'm moving my fingers and feeling very little pain overall.
And now I'm feeling trapped inside my cast and the house. I have to wash today, and it's going to take all day. I'm looking forward to being clean, but not to the insane contortions I'm going to have to do just to get my arm out of this shirt.
Fun, fun, fun.

In Pain
My catheter ran out last night. Mom yanked the wire out and now there's just a little hole where it was.
However, it means that the lovely numbing meds that have kept me from hurting and going crazy are gone. I'm free of the tubing, but with the way my wrist is screaming at me today, I'm almost wishing I had it back.
I'm learning really fast that if you bang your cast on anything, it reverberates all the way down and causes you to hurt. My swelling is down, so my wrist is a bit rattly in there...and there's a wound there. So every time I bump it, my wrist rattles back and forth off the walls of the cast...and bonks the wound, too. No moving fast for me-not if I want to be comfy.
There's Vicodin and Oxycontin, of course-and they increase the danger for me because I get woozy and nauseous from them. I have to be twice as aware of what I'm doing when I'm on them.
I'm making my first excursion out today. I have to get my long hair cut because I can't maintain it. I'm going to need a lot of luck and energy, so I'm going to go lay down.

I'm Alive!
After being knocked out with medication yesterday and waking to find my left arm in a heavy, unwieldy cast, I'm doing okay. No real nausea, little disoriented, but otherwise fine.
I have a pain catheter in my upper left chest area, and it goes down to a set of bottles with medication around my waist in a fanny pack. My left arm is completely numb-I can't move my fingers at all.
This cast is temporary-I gat a new one next week.
What irks me is I have to SPONGE BATHE for the next three days. And I can't go anywhere. I'm off balance and dirty and tired. Not a good idea for me to go out.
Enjoy the photos!

Eleven
I haven't posted because I've had nothing to say. Christmas and New Year's were survived. Grandma Koshak still doesn't know about my hand issues, although now my Aunt Pat is sick with a serious stomach ailment, so Grandma could be consumed with jealousy over THAT...
Meanwhile, the next Doctor to replace Tennant has been revealed as of today, and while I have my apprehensions about so young of an actor taking the role on, Matt Smith seems to be aware that he's in deep water already. He's 26 years old, taking on a 45 year old icon that he has to make his own after not one but TWO spectactularly good Doctors before him. He has to make Eleven stand out next to Ten, especially, because all of us are going to be comparing him come next year.
Mighty big shoes to fill. Oh, and add on that Steven Moffat is head writer this time around and he's a damn good one. Scared me a dozen times, at least. I'm still terrified of little kids in gas masks asking for their mothers, angel statues, and the dust motes in sunbeams (all things that Moffat made frightening). I'm expecting to be hiding behind a couch more often next series...
All I can say is good luck to this guy. He's got a lot to prove and he'd better do it well. I'll be watching when Tennant regenerates (dunno if I'll be able to see through my haze of tears, though...)
Here's a photo of Matt Smith, now the Eleventh Doctor. As Eleven, his hair is shaggier and he's sporting a black jumper with a black coat off of a three-piece suit (kind of a darkened combo of Nine's jumper and Ten's three-piece pinstripes. I wonder about the shoes, though...trainers again or is he going with dress ones like Nine always did? Hm...)

At least Moffat didn't go with somebody 40-ish and ugly like he was planning to. This guy's kind of hot...and only 4 years older than me!
