A Bit of A Domestic

I am glad I didn't have to work this morning (swapped with someone and worked Tuesday instead) because last night at about half-past midnight, things got loud downstairs. I was woken up by the just-below-me's having a doozy of a fight.

I have no clue what the argument was about, but it went on for at least a half hour. Loudly. Could pretty much make out everything that was said even if I didn't want to (and I didn't.)

It did get quiet in the middle, which made me think the girl in the apartment had left (because that's I would have done. There's got to be a friend you can go hang out with or an academic library to hide in) but then he started roaring again down there and she was talking back.

From what I heard, he appears to think he knows it all and better than anyone, and that apparently gave him the right to rant on for a whole half-hour.

Me, I was chanting 'three weeks to go, three weeks to go' and thanking heaven I didn't have to work today, because if I had, I would have called the cops.

I really hope one of them moves out so that they don't have a fight underneath me the night before I'm supposed to graduate, because I'm supposed to be up at an ungodly hour of the morning and I do not appreciate my sleep being disturbed by their stupid domestic warfare. But at least Dad will be here and he can go down and bang on their door and tell them to shut up.

I slept in a bit today and now I have homework to go and do. Merlin review will be up later today under this entry.

Sunday update: PACKERS 10 and OH! That's as good as we were last year all season and this year the other teams all pretty much suck (*cough*Colts*cough*) except for the 49ers, who don't. We're doing very well. Very proud. Keep up the good work!

Merlin Series 4, Episode 8.

SPOILER LINE

So, a village has three men sick. Gaius is busy so he sends Merlin, but no one apparently trusts Merlin's healing abilities because he's young and handsome and has great bone structure.

BUT Merlin takes the insults on his gorgeous chin and tries to do his job, but since the issue the men have is clearly caused by SAUCERY!, he needs Gaius.

So five knights, a servantgirl, and a wizard ride into a forest ANNNNNND...

Run into some clingy chick that makes Percy, Leon, Elyan, and Gwaine turned into idiots. Overprotective idiots. Oh, and she's a snake-person.

She knocks out Elyan with the same sickness doing in the villagers, sending the whole troop of idiots, Merlin, and Gwen, into an abandoned castle (which Camelot apparently has plenty of to spare. It's like Oblivion without the skeletons.)

The knights blunder around looking for Lamia (clingy chick) and she subsequently knocks each of them out.

Gwen suspects Merlin of being different. Oh COME ON Gwen!

Then Merlin swords Lamia in a very Skyrim hero-shot move, but she becomes snakey. Sort of octopus also. Very confusing.

And so he drops a spell on the room they're in (wouldn't that trap Percy and Leon, who were supposedly IN THERE?)

Merlin does magic BLATANTLY in front of Gwen, who doesn't notice because they're both being grabbed by the ankles by the octo-snake, and Arthur shows up!

See, this whole time inbetween all of this stuff happening, Arthur and Gaius have gone out to the village to visit the sickees, confirmed Merlin's suspicions, and headed back out to find the FIRST group who are wandering around in the forest because Lamia has screwed up the knights and they won't hear reason.

Luckily, Gwen has a shirt she can rip, and she's leaving bits of it along the way so that Arthur can find them.

And Agravaine gets one bad guy move this week (smushing down the horseshoe prints in the mud and covering them back up so that it makes it harder to find the others.) He didn't count on Gwen.

I'm not sure what this episode was meant to accomplish, honestly, because it didn't do anything. Merlin was insulted (again), Gwen got the credit for being brave (again), Arthur and her had a smoochy (sigh), and the knights didn't even apologize for acting like assbutts to Gwen and Merlin both.

So, a bit of a throwaway here. But NEXT WEEK!

Lancelot (squee!) returns from the dead. Surprise (not.) I suspect someone magical and bad has brought him back to separate Arthur and Gwen and WHY WHY WHY do I think it's Morgana?

Arthur asks Gwen to marry him, but it'll all end in tears because Lancelot is back! From the dead! And apparently he's looking for love!

And there's a jousting thing. Yeah. So that's happening.

4 episodes left. Where will it end?

Some suspect that Gwen's going to be told by Lancelot that Merlin is magical or something. Might be. She almost had it this episode.

Things are about to get interesting within the walls of Camelot. Dead people coming back, main cast members disappearing, nobody listens to Merlin EVER!

I can't spoiler you. I don't have the heart. But go look at Wikipedia, and go look up the episodes to come, and maybe you can work out what I'm talking about here.
