I got Bill the ficus a new pot today, as I could see even before I transferred him to a pot twice as big as the one he came home in that his roots were having trouble expanding out because there was no room. When I pulled him out of his original plastic pot, it was worse than I feared. You could hardly see the dirt for the roots. I was right; it was time for a bigger pot.
He now has lots of space to grow and put down his roots. I just hope I don't need to transfer him again or he's going to be in a pot so big I won't be able to move him in December when I go home.
See, Bill is sort of my pet, as having a furry friend in my place would mean 200 dollars more just to KEEP it and I'd probably have to move somewhere else. I seem to have this nurturing instinct that needs to take care of something, and since I can't afford a pet, let alone keep one not knowing where I'll be in a year, Bill is all I have.
My eyes still hurt quite a bit. I'll be getting THAT problem resolved tomorrow morning.
I've rewatched Doctor Who's last series up to Episode 6, so make sure to go find the Doctor Who notes from last week because they have changed a little bit in the Episode 4 and 5 section.
Ta,
Bec
