It Was Pretty Awesome, Thanks for Asking

Exhausted thanks to the three-hour Hamlet play on last night, plus the half-hour behind the scenes from the cast. Wonderful to see it, though, despite me being on the long side of stupid thanks to staying up till 11:30 to watch it.

But it was worth every minute and I'd do it again except that I don't think I could sit through another three hours of it right NOW. Maybe in a couple of months.

Meanwhile, I have to watch another episode of Merlin today so I can hear the audio commentaries. Glee!

Not much else up with me...oh. One thing.

When you have worked on something for a long time, say, 7 years, you think you know the whatever it is pretty damn well, right?

Wrong.

Guess what? In having watched and re-watched Hamlet clips all week and then watched the whole play last night, your faithful blogging idiot did NOT realize (UNTIL NOW) that the novel she was working on has a son murdering his uncle for killing off Daddy.

AGGGGGH!

It's not so bad if you don't know (as I have from the time I was, oh, say, 15?) that Lion King copies Hamlet as well.

But now I know it, and it throws a hell of a wrench into the works because I was hoping to have stolen my idea from ME and not from someone else. Damn. So much for trying to not kype it...

Anyway, I can't really change the whole plot to avoid stepping on someone's toes because more than likely I'd just land on someone else's. So I guess I'll live with it, eh?

Ta,
Bec
